Expansion of Chemicals and Utilities Recovery

We will expand our process of chemicals and utilities recovery focusing on sustainability and full respect of the environment. The project starting point is the installation of a new wood yard, followed by the installation of a recovery boiler, a new power cogeneration system and several interface improvements of the entire system. The main benefits involve reductions of variable costs of power, steam and cellulose. Cellulose production increases by 29% and in-house power generation by 56% in the unit.

Gaia II

Expansion of SC Packaging Unit

Our expansion plan becomes also more vigorous with the modernization of SC Packaging Unit. New equipment, such as the replacement of the corrugating machine and the addition of two printers, together with the expansion of the unit manufacturing area, reinforce our commitment to automating and connecting processes. These measures result in the increase of 53% in the production of corrugated cardboard and corrugated cardboard boxes in the unit, besides the reduction in maintenance costs, ensuring higher competitiveness and personal efficiency.

Gaia III

MP#2 Reform

We have achieved a new level that generates direct business results. Here our goal is the technological update of the paper machine in the SC Paper Unit. New equipment and automations allow an increment in the contribution margin and 30% increase in the paper machine production.

Gaia IV

Cristo Rei Repowering

At this stage, impacts of Gaia Platform make a significant leap in power sufficiency. Repowering of Cristo Rei hydraulic power plant, in the SC Paper Unit, will allow 84% increase in the power plant average generation, with a new transmission line, new generators and turbines as well as infrastructure improvements. Besides the reduction in power acquisition cost, it is an important step ahead to become self-sustainable in renewable energy.

Gaia V

Repowering of São Luiz hydraulic power plant, in the SC Paper Unit, will allow 233% increase in the power plant average generation, with a new transmission line, new generators and turbines as well as infrastructure improvements. At the end of this project, we will be self-sustainable in renewable energy.
